My Story

How it all began...

Having started my career in the design world, then progressing to sales and never really enjoying it, I decided after I had my son that it was finally time to do something I really love and am passionate about.
So, Potter’s Pinkies was born!

I am a fully qualified nail professional with Level 3 NVQ as well as brand specific qualifications. I currently specialise in CND products such as Shellac, Vinylux, Creative Play gel polish, Acrylics and PlexiGel. I also work with Light Elegance JimmyGel (BIAB – gel builder in a bottle) and IBX strengthen and repair nail treatment and have a real passion for Nail Art – for this I mainly use Lecenté products.
I also offer beautifully indulgent bespoke spa style manicures & pedicures (Fabulous and Exclusive) using Kaeso and CND products.

All of the systems and products I use have been carefully researched and selected as I wanted to offer my clients treatments that don’t cause ANY damage to the natural nail.
Nail health/care is a real passion of mine and I want that to be reflected in the products and services I offer my clients.

I know how busy life is these days, so be assured I can fit around your needs and am available when and where you need me.

I work mainly with CND products as I know and trust the technology and science behind them, and this is paramount to me. But I also ensure that all the products I use are kind to the skin and natural nail, causing no damage.

Care

Care is the first consideration I have before starting any treatment on a client. This includes going over and above government guidelines for our H&S protocols.

Nail health and care is paramount to Potter’s Pinkies, that’s why I ensure ALL the products I use are non-harmful to the natural nail as well as being naturally kind to the skin and nails.
I always thoroughly research products before introducing them as a service or treatment. I mainly use CND, but I also use Light Elegance, IBX and Kaeso as they are trusted products.

Prior to your treatment starting we will have a client consultation and you will have completed the health questionnaire to ensure I have all the knowledge I need.

All aftercare information is supplied electronically and explained verbally during the treatment to ensure clients have all the information they need to get the best out of their relevant service/product between appointments.
Should you wish to purchase any products to aid the care in between appointments this will be dealt with at the end of your treatment.

Art

I absolutely love nail art of any kind, from a simple bit of glitter (you can never have too much in my opinion!) to full individual nail designs.
I love to create bespoke designs myself and also take inspiration from other nail professionals as well as Pinterest and of course any client requests…I love it when clients come to me with a new request!
If I have any free time, you’ll find me creating something new for those that also love nail art!

IBX Repair Treatment (first treatment)

First, client’s nails are assessed to check if IBX is suitable.
Nails are thoroughly prepped prior to application. Nails are filed, shaped and cleansed. A thin layer of IBX repair is professionally applied to the natural nail, gentle heat is applied for 1 minute. Nails are lightly blotted to remove an excess, then cured for 1 minute and cleansed.
IBX Strengthen is professionally applied to the natural nail, gentle heat is applied for 4 minutes, lightly blotted, then cured for 1 minute and cleansed. The IBX Strengthen step is then repeated.
IBX can be applied to natural nails or under gel polish.

IBX Treatment (subsequent treatments)

Nails are thoroughly prepped prior to application. Nails are filed, shaped and cleansed. A thin layer of IBX repair is professionally applied to the natural nail (if required), gentle heat is applied for 1 minute. Nails are lightly blotted to remove an excess, then cured for 1 minute and cleansed.
IBX Strengthen is professionally applied to the natural nail, gentle heat is applied for 2 minutes, lightly blotted, then cured for 1 minute and cleansed.
IBX can be applied to natural nails or under gel polish.

The ultimate pamper for Gentlemen.
Hands are cleansed, cuticle remover is applied and nails are filed and shaped and cuticles are tidied.

Fabulous Pedicure

Feet are cleansed in a warm foot soak, cuticle remover is applied to each nail, and feet are soaked again.
Nails are filed and shaped and cuticles are tidied.
A gorgeous foot scrub is applied to gently exfoliate dull, dry skin.
Hard skin is gently removed from any stubborn areas, such as heels, balls of the feet and sides with a foot file. Feet are soaked to remove the scrub and dead skin.
To replenish the skin, a beautiful peppermint and blueberry foot cream is applied to the feet and lower leg, a deep tissue massage is performed to de-stress muscles and remove toxins, leaving the skin super soft and supple.

Men's Pedi

Single nail repair

Damage can happen to anyone prior to your next appointment, whether it’s a chip or something more. Potter’s Pinkies can fix it, so you have beautiful nails again!

Gel polish removal

Your existing gel polish will be removed professionally and safely with no damage to your natural nails.
Nails are shaped, filed and cleansed. The service is finished with CND Solar Oil application.
£15.00 (when removing another nail professionals’ gel)

Gel removal is free when the previous service has been performed by Potter’s Pinkies and Potter’s Pinkies is reapplying gel polish.

For gel polish removal that exceeds 30 minutes an additional £15.00 is charged per 30 minutes (includes nail prep).

Gels over extensions

CND Shellac, or CND Vinylux Everyday Polish can be applied to another nail professionals acrylics or gel extensions.
Nails are checked to ensure application an application of one of the above polishes is suitable. Nails are buffed and cleansed. Chosen colour/brand is applied and the service is finished with CND Solar Oil.

Kirsty is amazing. I have oily and bendy nails and previously haven’t been able to keep polish or acrylic nails on for longer than 2 weeks without them peeling off. Since Kirsty has been doing my nails they are in great condition and I have just kept a set on for 4 weeks, although they had obviously grown loads the fact they were all present and had to be soaked off was a miracle. I love having beautiful nails and Kirsty knows her stuff. I would definitely recommend.
